HPSNZ, in partnership with The New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) and Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ), traditionally hosts a biennial Performance Summit. The purpose of the 2023 Performance Summit is to connect the people in the New Zealand high performance sport system and provide an opportunity to explore current trends in elite sport, reflect on the key lessons from the Tokyo cycle (2017-2021), as well as 2022, and look forward to future international pinnacle events.

Our Collective Vision

The connectivity of NZ’s high performance sport people and system enables effective preparation to optimise wellbeing and performances across multiple horizons towards 2032.

Our Collective Beliefs

  • Collaborating at a national level is a strategic advantage that the New Zealand high performance system can proactively optimise.
  • Sharing experiences and best practice across the HP environment supports faster learning that improves wellbeing and performance for people involved in delivering high performance sport.
  • Contributing to a ‘one-team’ approach for pinnacle event preparation enables a competitive edge to support New Zealand being a well-prepared pinnacle event team.
